Create a picture using this no-sew method of applique. Kinusaiga is a craft that originated in Japan in the 1980s by Maeno Takashi. Maeno carves the design on a wooden board and pushes silk scraps into the grooves. At Haveabashery we work on foamcore boards using mainly cotton fabrics. Silk and other fancy fabrics also work.
You can choose from several designs, make alterations to existing designs or draw your own.
This class runs over 2 lessons. All materials are provided except the tools. These only have to be purchased once and are available for $10.
Each lesson will run on Mondays at Haveabashery Studio, 4 Mataura Road, Waihi from 10am to 1pm.
