Haveabashery is a small art studio where you can experience different craft projects. Courses are designed to be accessible to anyone. Our motto is

"Give it a go."

Our Classes

  • Junk journals can be made from recycled materials, magazine cutouts, op shop finds, painted papers, and anything that catches your eye! Check out the gallery for some examples

  • We often use gel printing in our junk journals. You can do a one day class at Haveabashery as an introduction to gel printing. In this class we create a small finished project.

  • Making your own embellishments for junk journals is very rewarding. At Haveabashery, we keep things really simple but effective. Learn some simple watercolour techniques and ink doodles.

  • Slow stitching can encompass many things; meditative hand stitching, reusing vintage and second hand fabrics, unplanned creativity in design, embracing imperfection. A slow stitched project can be all these things or perhaps only one or two. However you approach it, slow stitching is an enjoyable and relaxing way to create. You can think of it like a sketchbook where ideas are trialed, or just a personal journey of reflection and meditation. Stitches can be as simple as running stitch or can include stumpwork and other complicated stitches.

  • Kinusaiga is an ancient Japanese art worked on wooden boards. Modern Kinusaiga is done on foamcore boards. Kits will be available soon but we also have a class where you can learn this amazing no-sew method.
